I recently became a newbie owner of a 2013 911 C2 (bought from private party). The dealer told me that a rear rim (20") is bent and a new one would cost ~2k.
I went on eBay and found an OEM wheel that appear to be the right one (Part#991-362-166-05-OB5).
Cross checked the item with Sunset Porsche Parts (https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...99136216605ob5) then ordered it on eBay.
Subsequently I realized that the offset (rear, 52mm) did not seem to match with the required offset (70mm) for a narrow body C2.
The surprising thing to me was that the OEM vendors (such as Sunset) did not even show nor ask for body style (wide vs. narrow) on their website.
A few questions that I'd very much appreciate your inputs on:
1) Does the wheel work on both C2 and C4 by design simply with different spacers?
2) If not, is it acceptable to fit the widebody OEM wheel (for C4) to my narrow body C2?
Thanks in advance for your help!
On a widebody car, you can add spacers and use a narrowbody wheel, but not the other way round.
Generally folks add a spacer in the rear for a more "filled" wheel arch, but that spacer is not 70-52 = 18mm, it's smaller.
On the 997 WB wheels look very nice on NB, but for 991 they jut out too much - I test-fitted some wheels on my 991 and then gave up.
