Default 991.2 Muffler Finish Restore?

I have an '18 991.2 GTS with 50k miles and the muffler, cats and turbos have an orange'ish tint to them. It doesn't seem to be rust. I'd love to get them back to a more "like new" finish without abrasion.

Has anyone had experience with any products or techniques to restore the finish? Thanks.

Yep. Pull it off and polish it with metal polish (the center muffler). I have not tried the cats as I went with cat bypass pipes. The center muffler is stainless and should polish up nicely.

Oh wow! That looks amazing. I've got something to aspire to now.

Did you use the Fltz or something else to get to that point?

I used flitz with the buff attachment on a drill. Mother’s or any other decent metal polish should work also.

How difficult was it for you to drop the muffler? Did the rear bumper need to come off to install the catless pipes or was it pretty easy?

Bumper didn’t need to come off-just need two people to get it out easily.

Anyone tried vapor blasting? I have a friend with a motorcycle restoration shop that keep very busy doing this technique.

Another option - I removed mine, cleaned it well, primed and painted it with high temp flat black paint. Now it just visually disappears beneath the car from behind. The polishing and vapor blasting are both great ideas if you want to see the muffler more acutely. Cheers.

Hmm, I may have to do this to my PSE setup if I don't swap in a regular S system.

Nope. It's the worst thing about the car. Sounds awful and looks atrocious. I hate center exit exhausts.

Ok - then switch it out with an aftermarket or go the S route. Not sure what year your car is, but you gotta find something you like.
