Default I fooled myself

When I looked at my 2017 991.2 Carrera GTS, it had beautiful grill guards, looked to be powder coated stainless steel, finished in black. There was a grill on the left and right, and one installed in the center location. I assumed there was a center radiator there, NOT, purely cosmetic. Back to Suncoast for a venter radiator....I had one installed on my 991.1.

One of the few mods to my 991.2 C4S.

That fake inlet had to go. Did the install myself. Well worth the effort.

I thought all 991 GTS had a center radiator? Was that only on the 991.1 then?

Why do we need a center radiator? If you have one, which side is it piped to? Do the existing L/R cool separate parts of the engine?

991.1 GTS had center radiators. 991.2 GTS do not come with center radiator but the outer radiators and ready to accept the center radiator. Suncoast has a kit that is ready to go.

If you track, the center radiator should be mandatory upgrade.

Thanks. I don't really follow the .2's. I learn something every day.

The above is exactly how I fooled myself..I knew the 991.1 GTS had a center radiator, so seeing a Grill Guard on the Center, I assumed there was a center radiator behind that grill.... I have a pal with a 991.2 Carrera who tracks his car...in his opinion, the center radiator is really helpful in lowering temps at the track on a warm day.....So, on my former 991.1, I had the Suncoast kit installed...he was right, oil temps never exceeded 250 F on a hot day. Before I had seen 270 F: Too high for me so I would come off the track for a cool down.

Needless to say, I will be ordering the center radiator for the 991.2, Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota, also Porsche of Naples FL will supply a kit. Better safe than sorry.
