Here is a DMI report from a car that I am interested in. It was done by the seller
on a handheld device. I believe that these settings can be re-set. It is the
zeros in all categories that makes me wonder.....
Car has 6,400 miles.... 20 something mph average over its life... manual transmission
So can the settings, excluding engine hours, be re-set? If not, then what sort of games can a
seller play in terms of manipulating the report?
thanks!
Based on that mileage, the report seems pretty legit. Can the numbers be re-set? Sure. But that takes a crap-ton of knowledge and expertise.
Your DME Report is just one part of your due diligence process. No one should buy a Porsche on only one data point. If everything else checks out, buy it.
