Correct! I have an APR tune. Stage1 91oct w/quiet mode.
Throttle is touchy a lot of the time, particularly around the vague transition point between out of boost and in boost it's not linear. Going from off throttle to neutral throttle shortly after boosting (ie accelerate, coast a little, maintain speed) sometimes lacks response like there's a temporary dead area in the pedal. While accelerating normally (~4-6psi up to 3-4k rpm) there are sometimes hiccups/jerks in the 2.5-3k range, like a misfire but no codes/counters and no affiliated sounds, just a buck/jerk like I lifted the throttle fully for a split second. A lot of the standard "yep this car has some aftermarket thing going on" stuff. Either that or something's wrong with my car, and that's kind of the crux of the issue here.
I'm inclined to think mechanical issue based on what you're describing. Like a loose/disconnected vacuum tube. Potentially to the blow off valve which would create these weird driveability issues.

It would be far more constant if that were the case, I feel. Everything I described is intermittent. BOV malfunction would lead to a bit of compressor surge, which has a very distinct sound. That isn't happening, at least!
I've had Softronic on 2 of my personal cars (currently on my 986s) and on an NA car it makes the experience that much better every time I get on the gas. On the 986S I describe the power as an "increase in eagerness". On a 991T we had in last week, it was on the "transformative" side. We sell a lot of Softronic tunes and the reasons are simple: Robust programming, excellent support and they occupy the sweet spot between an off the shelf tune and a pro tune.
I can't recall a customer here not absolutely loving the experience shift.

Hello All,
Perhaps we should keep the thread on Softronic and not confuse other tuners etc in it.
I think it would be more beneficial to post threads for other tuners with info in those about them.
I will of course gladly talk to any Porsche owner on their questions and concerns and I recommend you call me at 203-723-8928 M-F 9-5EST

So I'm a repeat customer of Softronic. Scott tuned my 991.2 Base (now wrecked) and my 991.2 S (which I daily now).
I don't have the slips in front of me, but I went to Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX and below are my times:
1. June 2021, 2017 Porsche Carrera Base with Softronic Tune only: Ran 11.6s @ 120mph multiple runs, VERY consistent. Somewhat humid June night, awesome Michelin PS4S tires that never slipped, and repeatedly stomped a C8 convertible that wasn't consistent at all, but he kept trying all night and got worse while my car just kept putting down identical numbers.
2. October 2021, 2017 Porsche Carrera S with Softronic Tune only: Best run was 11.55s @ 123mph, somewhat consistent, BUT I completely blame the Yokohama ADVAN APEX V601 tires. Those tires always spun even on a prepped drag strip. If I had the Michelin PS4S, then I bet I'm around 11.2-11.3 with that trap speed.
Needless to say I'm a very happy customer. I plan on going Turbo for my future Porsche, and I'll be sure to go back to Softronic for a tune!
I just added the Softronic tune to my 718 Spyder (NA, not turbo) and it has been very noticeable, in a good way. It seems the car runs better overall, and the midrange pull is greatly improved. And as a heads-up, he is rolling out a handheld/MyGenius system for installing the tune soon so no more sending in the DME.

any 0-60 times? I would have thought you would have gotten a higher speed. I seam to recall the published quarter mile is in the low 12s and 120s mph.
I'm burning through these Yokohama's as fast as I can, and will put proper Michelin PS4S on them. Hoping by next season I can get the low 11s I'm hoping for from this 991.2 S w/tune only, but we'll see.
I found my slip for my 991.2 Carrera Base. It doesn't show 0-60, but has other measurements. Times will vary by location and temperature, but comparing what Car and Driver gets for a 991.2 Carrera Base (11.9 @ 118mph) vs. what I got w/Softronic tune only (11.606 @ 120.2 tune only), you can clearly see the bang for the buck. Ignore my reaction time as I wasn't ready for the pro-tree vs the countdown tree I'm used to lol!
I'm on the right, Softronic Tune Only, Michelin PS4S tires, June 2021 in Texas
OH - on the left was the C8 convertible with like 2k miles. He was using launch control and was spinning off the line constantly. He did have all season tires, but still that power wasn't impressive at all. I've not seen a stock C8 run anywhere near low 11s in Texas. I wasn't impressed at all by a stock C8 in any form. I'm a former C7 Stingray owner FWIW, but now I'm a Porsche convert for life!
