Default putting away my car now should i change my oil now?

Hi guys im putting away my car next week for winter season my question would you change oil there or wait till spring come to change oil?

Change it before you put it away. There’s byproduct in the used oil that you don’t want to site in your engine

Fresh oil always before storage is best for longevity.

Another +1 for storing with fresh oil, if you can.

If you wanna go full nuts with it, change the oil before you take it out of storage too. Or just drive it for half an hour, same end result.

If it was my car, I'd definitely change the oil prior to putting it into storage.

Water and acids are byproducts of the combustion process that end up in your oil over time and are corrosive to internal engine components. Oil contains an additive to combat the affects of oil acidity (TBN ), however with time and use, the level of TBN is reduced.

By changing the oil prior to storage, you will prevent the internal engine components from extended exposure to any accumulated acids.
