Also, What's the red/black screwdriver handled tool you got there? Is that for drain plug removal?

And while we're at it... What was in the white plastic bag and what about your torque wrench?
Ref OBD tools, I dunno. I am ok with my Autel unit for annual oil change resets, so that's kinda all I need at the moment. I guess I would pick the iCarsoft based on positive reviews here? But I would defer to the folks with more up to date experience/info.

The red/black screwdriver is the "Audi/VW" oil pan plug removal tool. I was a bit OCD about my first OCI and someone or other recommended it. Turns out a Philips, or a 2 Euro coin, will work fine to quarter turn the plug, but OF COURSE I had to have the tool:

Amazon Amazon

The white plastic bag was what the new oil drain plug came in.

My torque wrench is off camera.

Here's a photo of my oil draining with my 991.2 flat on the floor of my garage. The large, shallow drain pan easily fits under the car and accommodates the engine's copious drain oil. The only trick is reaching between the bottom of the oil pan and the top of the drain pan to undo the the plastic oil drain plug. Using the plastic tool designed for that purpose makes it easier as the tool is pretty short.

Picked up my new jack this week. Also picked up some ESCO jack stands. Jack works great. Haven't done my oil change yet, but am getting ready. Thanks for the help getting me on my way.

Love it, why complicate it.

Of course, won't work on numerous modified cars. Just as some floor jacks will not work in all scenarios. I was simply commenting about a specific situation. LOL

DYI oil change done and was satisfying. I found the 36mm deep well socket and 8mm mid length hex socket at Napa (in stock) for $ 20.00 for the two and the Pittsburgh ramps were 20% off at Harbor Freight.. The only advice is pour the new oil in slowly, very slowly. I was not able to use a lockable oil fill funnel. Went with a wide mouth and poured in from 5 quart jugs.

I first got the car to operating temp before the drain and let it sit for over an hour. Replaced and primed the new filter, got the car back on level ground and poured in just over seven quarts. Did the IcarSoft reset and the oil was at the bottom "Minimum" oil indicator mark.
I filled 1/2 quart and had to do a total of three 1/2 quart fills to reach the "one marker" below the top level line. Drove the car for a few miles and re-checked the oil level. Still right on the one mark below "Top Fill".

Oh, I did noticed when removing the engine cover the foam seals that seal to the air box are deteriorated and some has fallen off. Checked the engine filters and did not see any loose pieces of foam.
I have some 3M single side "sticky" foam that might work, but is a little more "firm" than the factory porous foam seal. Thoughts?

Used my QuickJack.. before that, I just back the car out to the edge of the garage and do it, it's tight but doable.
