For some reason I hate pulling onto the ramps so I jack the car up and lower it onto them.

When using ramps, I always put jack stands under the car for additional safety. Even when the car is on jack stands, I use extra jack stands or wood blocks for extra protection..

Tier1 is correct: just jack up the rear wheels, and you'll drain more oil than that 7.5L: I usually get about 8-8.5L when I change the oil just raising the rear of the car.

I just do ramps like the BB964. I am done within an hour. Most of that time is waiting for the oil to drain.

I use the same ramps, but I would not put them on a soft surface like grass, with some sinking and flex under load, the plastic might crack.

^^ X2 on the Quick Jacks! If you plan on doing any maint/mods on your vehicle, just bite the bullet and get a set. All 4 wheels off the ground in probably 3 minutes. Ramps & jack stands are a PIA. I haven't touched my ramps since.

I'd love to get a set of Quick Jacks, but I plan to keep my car stock and there really isn't any other maintenance I can think of doing other than the oil (maybe air filters/spark plugs). My old 928 was a different story. I changed everything under that car from the exhaust to the power steering rack myself.

Also, and it may just be me, but I've noticed the engine is less noisy at first startup after sitting for 2-3 days, with less ticking and valve clatter the first few miles, using the 5W-50. My next OCI is Feb, so I will submit get a report on this past year to confirm the viscosity improvement with the 5W-50, or not.

Yes, you will need to have the oil maintenance minder reset, either by the dealer, or an indy with the right tool, or you can do it DIY with e.g. an Autel tool (approx $100). I DIY, and bought the Autel:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I had to do it over again, I would not buy this one, but I'd get a slightly better one that also reset the Battery Maintenance System. (I put in a new battery in August, and had to schmooze a BMS reset gratis from my SA. Ok, well, to be honest, it was at the same time as an Air Filter job, plus I left them a box of doughnuts on the seat before it went into the shop. Dang if they all didn't disappear though. )

what about this tool?

So, For a 991.1 2013 C2S, what oil and filter brand do you recommend?

What about Mobil 1 4-W40 FS-X2 European Car Formula? It is Porsche A40 approved Oil.

And do you need to reset the PCM engine warning display?
Same car/year as yours. Waiting for my oil kit to come on Monday from fcpeuro. $85 approx for 5w40 liqui Moly with filter etc. i use icarsoft por II for reset. Bought the tool off a fellow forum member. Recommended for maintenance resets.

My simple Autel unit seems to work well enough for the annual battery minder reset. I have heard good things about the "iCarsoft" (?) tool that @Ark20 mentioned, but don't have any personal experience with it.

this does not make sense to me - why do you do this?

do you feel the ramps will crush?
