Left side windows are working OK (going up and down) when I use the door switches but when closing the top, the left side windows wont come up automatically.
The read left windows starts going up but halfway through it stops and goes down again. This is avoiding also the front window to go up since the logic is that the rear window goes up first.
Anybody has faced a similar problem ? I tried reseting and teaching window position with no luck.
Common problem with cabrio's. It's the beginning of the end for the window regulator. You can try the window switch program reset procedure and it may work for a while, but it will return. Under warranty at all? It's a close to $1k repair, less if done at an indy.
Decided to lubricate the rubber before taking it to the dealer..... and worked. I guess that shows me I need to lube all the rubbers in the car more often. We will se if this lasts.....
Makes sense if the anti-pinch is the reason that its not working.
Anti-pinch looks at the current draw of the motor to determine if its struggling against someones arm or hand. So if the motor is struggling against dirty or dry guides or rubber it could be the cause.
UPDATE - Took the car to the dealer since I was still having problems with the rear left window and they confirmed that they will have to change the window motor under warranty. Dealer mentioned that even lubing all rubber should help, it is not normal for the window not to go up if the rubbers are a little bit dry.
By the way, any suggestions on the type of lube I should use for the top mechanism and rubbers ?
Interesting thread as I have a cab as well. Regarding the conditioner and protectant, I use this stuff on my slide seals. Goes on as a foam. Maybe I’ll test it. Any thoughts?
I'm going to be using this one since it was what I was able to find in my country..... the one you are selecting, looks good. I guess anything that is silicone based will work.
