Default Deleting the rear electric wing

Hi folks,

I am deleting the rear electric wing on my 2013 991.1 (Carrera 4S), in favor of an alternate fixed wing rear lid, which means that the wing Motor is no longer present and is not connected
to the car's electronics. I assume that I will get a check light / failure for that. How can I delete this feature, so that there is no warning?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Dealership can code it out for you.

A bootleg PIWIS should be able to do that as well, if you have access to one.

As asellus said, it can be coded out at a porsche stealership. I think it was around $80 to have mine done.

Many thanks to you both... $80 is a reasonable cost for doing this

It's going to cost whatever the shop minimum is (usually 30 minutes at base labor rate, which is commonly $160/hr). It's a task the service advisor can perform and it takes less than 30 minutes including pulling the car in, booting up the computer, and making the change.

$250 is kind of insane for anywhere that isn't California.

I didn't get a check engine light when I switched to a ducktail. You will however, have the auto spoiler pop up at 78mph or whatever it is. I was TRYING so hard not to go over that limit when going to get it coded out, but California drivers **** me the F off. It popped....no issues, but it looked weird. Marin Porsche wanted $350!!!!!!!! I went to Scargo which charged me $150. Still pricey, but half the cost. That's what you get for living in communist California.

OP isn't switching to a ducktail, they are switching to a fixed lid and fully deleting the motor assembly.

Yea...I got that, was just explaining my experience with coding which he will need to do, correct? Also, I have a fixed "lid" as you call it.

My bad, it sounded like you were saying that a CEL won't happen and the fixed lid would just lift at 78mph.

In OP's case, the CEL will happen immediately as the rear BCM will see an open circuit where the motor should be and, obviously, no lifting will occur at any speed.
