Default PSM Malfunction

Can anyone give me a direction to start looking to solve the following.
PSM malfunction light on and neither the Foxwell or the Carsoft scanners can find the PSM module to troubleshoot. It's like there is no communucation with the PSM module. Thanks in advance, you guys have been great helping me bring this totaled 2014 S back to life. This is the last issue to diagnose.

Start with the checking the ECU fuse.

If no luck then disconnect the battery and unplug the ECU. Check to see if theres corrosion. If your not to savvy then try a battery disconnect for 5 min and connect the battery.

From there the next steps depend on if you have a multimeter to check power, ground and CAN resistance from the ECU.

Also smell the ECU does it smell burnt?
