Default At home tire inflator recommendation

Seeking a reliable tire inflator for my 991.1. Will only need to occasionally fill up tires with a few lbs of air especially after sitting for a bit. Plug in 120v I am assuming would, be best. Any recommendations?

Thank-you.

Pancake compressor.

Otherwise, if you have any cordless tools, get that ecosystem's battery operated inflator.

I bought this Kobalt at Lowe’s after running through about 5 of those Costco “jump boxes”. Each of them died on me after about a year of use and while they would exchange them, I don’t think it was just me having the problem as they don’t carry them anymore.

This one’s been great for inflating lots of things to include the kid’s bikes (and mine), inner tubes for sledding etc. You preset the desired pressure and it just goes. Also provides the initial pressure reading as well when first attached. Believe it or not I actually got it for $40 when it was on sale.

I have had many air compressors. Most are very loud. I now have 2 of these, one in the garage and one in the barn. So quiet. Best ever for my uses.

For some reason the link isn’t attaching in my post. Look up item #791911 if interested.

I've had two of the Kobalt inflators from Lowe's since 2015. The only reason I had to buy another was because my first one was sold with my Ram 2500+Airstream Travel Trailer.

Pretty sure it's this one:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-DC-1...ric/1000092575

I like it because it runs off 120VAC or 12VDC, inflates to 80 psi, has an autoshut off, and a lighted LCD control/display. The power and inflator hoses are only about 2' each, though, so you have to run an extension cord from the wall to the tire if you use it in the garage. It includes a couple useful accesories to air up pool floats etc. Plus a handy LED task light on the side you can switch on if you are working in the dark.

Yep, mea culpa regarding the length of the chargers electrical cord. I forgot to mention that. That said the weight of the unit itself is super light and with the built in handles it’s super easy to move around a vehicle when attached to an extension cord. 👍

+1 on the battery powered versions, i've got a few ryobi tools for DIY jobs around the house and this thing is great:

I have a pancake compressor but I never use it anymore. Instead l have 2 Ryobis and more recently, I bought a Milwaukee M12 inflator. For the home user, don’t waste money on compressors anymore; lithium battery cordless tools are the way to go. They are so convenient. In addition to the cordless air compressors, I have a cordless impacts, a cordless ratchet, cordless lights and more. As mentioned earlier, pick one system and stick with it (I chose Ryobi b/c Im not a pro and didn’t need the most powerful tools; and recently the Milwaulkee M12 b/c of their size). One huge advantage with cordless is that you don’t need to worry about a power source and you can take it with you if you are taking a road trip or if you take your car to the track.

check out project farm for some inflator reviews (note, the Ryobi unit they use is the handheld one, they have a non-handlheld ones as well)

No worries, for sure. I picked up one of these 100' Utilitech Reels at Lowe's recently, I put my 50' of 14/3 on it and just unwind it to the car as I go. Very convenient and rolls up nicely to put back in the garage cabinets.

The factory one under the hood works fine for small tasks IMO.
