Default Thinking about some BBS E89 (or similar) Wheels for my 991.2 C2S

So, I'm thinking ahead about upgrading my stock wheels to BBS Wheels like the ones in these photos (I've snagged these photos from around the this forum and possibly elsewhere, so I'm sorry if these belong to one of you). These are BBS E89 5 lug. What do I need to know about these wheels? My 991.2 C2S has 20" wheels. Do people typically go down a size to 19" with wheels like this to have a wider/larger/fatter aspect ratio or is it purely a matter of taste? Is it easy to order these wheels to the exact size specification of the stock wheels, or does this require using spacers to offset? I ask because I've seen quite a number of posts from people who drop thousands of dollars on wheels only to discover they weren't properly sized. Curious to know people's thoughts and certainly would love to see examples of other people's wheels (like these) in both 19" and 20". I'd probably lower the car a tad on some H&R Sport Springs at some point too.

I believe the wheels on the white car on the bottom were for sale not too long ago, and needed a pretty large spacer on the front 15ish mm. Maybe the owner will chime in. Good luck they are beautiful!

Great looking rims but Chrome wheels on a car with Zero chrome never worked for me

E88/89 wheels are awesome but they are only up to 19" sizes. Lots of people have downsized from stock 20's to 19's for a meatier tire so no issues there. Going to 19" wheels, the biggest concern would be clearance of the joint/knuckle of the rear lower control arm. A lot of 19" wheels can't clear this due to the inner barrel design. You can get some to work using spacers though. E88/89 apparently clear without the need for spacers.

If you like that style but want to stay at 20" size, then check out the RT88. They're basically E88 faces using 20" LM barrels. You can get them from @SupremePower
[and it looks like they already posted a minute before i finished typing this lol]

OK, So you're the second person to say LM barrels. Can you explain to me what LM barrels are? How are these wheels different from E88/89 and what are the pros/cons between the two? Thanks!!!

LM wheels are offered in larger sizes than the E88 (apparently E89 does go up to 20" also)

I'm running Forgeline gw3r's which are very similar to E89's. Much easier to get though and you can customize pretty much any size / offset:

@mic_crispy Gorgeous wheels. I wasn't familiar with these so I looked them up and am glad to see they're made in the USA although I also like that the BBS are made in Germany which is good by me too. I guess the downside is that they cost as much as BBS, but maybe the quality is there and worth it. Are those 19" or 20"? A lot of times when I see these wheels of this style on a 991 I get the feeling that they have fatter rubber and so I wonder if they're 19" or if my eyes are just deceiving me. Thanks for posting the pics!!!

Quality on forgelines is very highly regarded. These are 20s with stock tire size (245/305).

@mic_crispy Thanks for the info. That’s very helpful. What springs did you use to lower it to that stance?
