Default PSE vs. AWE Switchpath ?

I was planning on turning my non PSE 991.1 C2S coupe into a PSE to get some more sound and some more smiles on my face.

Opportunity to pick up an AWE Switchpath has come up.

Question becomes.......... How much louder is the AWE going to be over the PSE?

From research, it seems opinions vary. Some say the AWE is obnoxiously loud, some say it is nowhere near obnoxious.

AWE says the Switchpath exhaust is maybe 10% louder than the PSE with the valves closed, and around 30% louder with the valves open.

The concern is two fold. The PSE being too quiet vs the AWE being too loud.

Im an old school muscle car guy, who certainly does t mind some noise, and I’m leaning towards the AWE, but figured I’d ask for some fresh opinions and or thoughts.

All other exhaust parts will remain stock as the car is under a CPO and I won’t chance losing the warranty.

I've had both. Started with the AWE Switchpath - sounded great at first but definitely became obnoxious, and I feel like it didn't match the personality of the car. I heard a statement by someone on here once that had the Switchpath - they said that the car had more bark than bite. That was definitely the case for me. I sold it and went with the PSE. Very happy with it; nice and quiet when the valves are closed and plenty of growl when they're open. Really fits the car well.

I have PSE and while it is good, I do want a bit more sound out of my exhaust (valves open or closed) and little more flow to allow the engine to breathe a little better.....that said, I am considering AWE, BB, Soul and some others. Probably leaning more towards Soul today, but ultimately still undecided.

Thanks for the insight.

BB, as in BillyBoat? As far as I know, they don’t offer 991 exhaust.

Oops, you are correct, I guess my memory of past research for my SC bled into my 991 desires.....so strike out BB and my search continues.

Thank you for considering us! Our Valved Performance Exhaust System is built around serious flow and offering as aggressive of an exhaust note as possible while having minimal drone in spite of that. Our system is currently available in version 2 - we improved the design with helmholtz resonators to target drone and cut it down. It's transformational and absolutely one of my favorite systems that we've designed. I invite you to put my words to the test and try it - we'll take it back for your money back if it doesn't meet your expectations.

I have followed your entire thread from when you launched the new/updated product. Definitely a fan of the work you have done and the results are appealing. Very tempting offer you laid out.....
