Biggest thing I was looking for with this thread was not a value system question, rather, I was just trying to understand just how "bad" a deal this 911 - or any 911 - is in this market. I do understand, however, that someone with gobs of expendable income probably doesn't care whether or not they are missing out on $20k of depreciation, they just want their 911 and want it now.

Smart idea. So general consensus is 992 GTS over this one given the similar price points.

I got my loaded c4gts mt (16x msrp) for about 50k off with about 5k miles/4yr cpo back in 2019

It's a beautiful car and if you drove it for years, I doubt you would regret it. At 7k miles, it should feel pretty close to a new car.

In my personal opinion, though, at that price I would be looking at ordering a brand new one, spec'ed exactly as I would want it, though. This is assuming they aren't marking up 992's by 10-15k (I have no idea). If they aren't, then I would pull the trigger on new.

It's a really tough time to buy used.

Don't know your financial circumstances but that's a big factor. Also, your excitement factor about the 992 vs the 991.2. I'm not a big believer in waiting around and hoping for things to change so I'd go for this very nicely built, low miles C4GTS.
Only you can decide if the price is too high.

Just built my ideal-spec 2022 992 GTS on Porsche's Configurator for 154k...sheesh...

Local Porsche dealer says they aren't taking orders for 2022 GTS yet, but I'm in a small market here in Cincinnati.

Hi Neo, well my wife, who is an astute investor, a Porsche driver and a real estate expert says: "yes, asset prices may be higher, but if prices go down but rates go up in next year, it basically is a wash to buy now or later."

If you love the car, get it and don't look back. Life is too short.

Fair point. And FWIW, I've not driven a 992 yet. I just assume it's 10% better than the 991.2, but the 991.2's I've driven have been plenty of car for me, so I personally wasn't chasing new. But part of that was hoping that the first buyer bit the bullet on depreciation for me, which of course isn't happening at this time.

So it's worth 25k more than where you bought it. Killer.

I'm not even sure about the 10 percent hahaha! Essentially the same engine, updated telematics and more/bigger screens, but the interior materials seem to have taken a step back in quality (992 materials felt "cheaper" inside to me than the 991).

That's not a horrible price if you want something now. For comparison, here's a similar GTS at my dealer: https://www.greenvilleluxury.com/cer...ff6679b2f2.htm

If it's a spec you like, buy it and don't look back.

$13k over sticker on a 2 year old (model years) car with 6k miles....wow.

That’s your answer right there.

Find a volume dealer, order and wait. Order exactly what you want if you are spending that kind of money.

Find something else to satisfy your itch in the intervening time - automotive or otherwise.

Would rather have a late model 991.2 than a 992 but that’s just me.

Driven the new 992 Carrera and they’re great but the interior leaves me cold.

If this one has all you want then make them an offer. Remember that finding that “one” car can be difficult.

Market forces are beyond our control but you control your budget. How bad do you want it? Good luck.
