Default “Typical” GTS depreciation

Hi all. I am considering a 2019 CPO 991.2 GTS4 with only 1k miles on it. Original MSRP was 147k and it is spec I want. However, I am not sure what the right price wouldve been for something like this a few years ago before the current madness. It is basically being sold right around MSRP currently but has CPO warranty and again is essentially “new”.

Would this have been 20k cheaper a couple yrs ago? 10k? Trying to figure out how much of a potential bath I would take when market corrects.

Appreciate your input!

I would say something in the 10-20% depreciation would have been the previous standard for this.

FWIW, a friend of mine sold a 2017 991.2 GTS w/ $170K MSRP, 6K miles, for $120K a year ago. Keep in mind that it was the ‘current-gen’ then. If you’re holding it until the 992 GTS come onto the market, you may want to factor in additional depre.

Yikes! That is what I am afraid of although the car is otherwise perfect. I think at least 10k off original MSRP would be reasonable but no way that is possible in the current market.

I bought my 2019 4GTS with 8k miles last November. Originally a $186k CAD car, I got it for $150k CAD. The car was originally sold in November 2019 so it had 3 years of warranty left when I got it. So about 17% depreciation after the 1st year.

I've seen local dealers selling 2019 4GTS with fewer options than mine for $170k~180k CAD.

That is very helpful. This particular one is hard to estimate as it is a 2019 model (2 years old) but only has 1k miles and is CPO. I still think selling it for previous MSRP today is just the tale of the times. But I am tempted to get it but don't want to severely overpay.

Life is short. If you find the car with the options and color you want, go for it.

The 4GTS is a somewhat limited production car and it's not easy to find one. I still look at autotrader everyday. And if I didn't buy my chalk gray last November, I still wouldn't have a 911 now because there's literally 0 other car that I would pull trigger on since last November.

As many have said here before, you only feel the pain of the purchase price once, but if it's the car you want, it will put a smile on your face every day.

+1
If you got $100k+ to burn on a car, you don't feel any pain when spending the $. Buy the car you like.

1K mile car that is CPO, 1 year ago maybe 10% off MSRP. These days 100% absolutely selling at MSRP. In fact with only 1K miles and CPO, its considered a deal if its under MSRP.

I picked up a CPO 19 GTS for 20% off MSRP April of 2020 from a local dealer. It had 6K miles.

That sounds like a great deal! If this was even 10% off I would've already bought it! Hard to swallow no discount from MSRP for a 2 year old car but I understand this is a relatively rare car so I won't have a platter of options to choose from.

Make them an offer. See if they budge. If they don’t buy it. Might already be sold based on how few of them are currently available and how few were made.

Good question and hard to gauge market. Is it PDK or MT? I have my 18 4 GTS MT that I might test the waters with

You will do well. What is the spec?
