I ordered a DSC Sport v3 controller a few months ago based on the recommendations here, and finally got around to installing it. It takes about 5 minutes to install, and I did it with a car seat in the back and only one seat folded down, which made it more of a PITA but still no big deal.
Impressions after several drives: normal mode is very noticeably more comfortable, and sport is very noticeably more planted (without just being more stiff in a bad way). The car should came come from the factory like this. Normal mode reminds me a lot of Normal mode in a McLaren, which I've always found very impressive. There's still a lack of body roll, but the suspension just feels more active and willing to eat up bumps. Square-edged bumps are mostly the same, but all other types of bumps are probably twice as comfortable. My wife and my 5yo daughter both noticed it immediately as well.
I need more seat time in sport mode, but as I said, it's noticeably improved and makes the two modes very distinct. These impressions are with the base file – I won't be messing with it at all.
I highly recommend one!

It's that good, eh? I've been seriously thinking about getting one for my car.

Can the DSC Sport v3 controller be used on a base Carrera? I have a 2017 C2 (991.2) and didn't know if certain options need to be on the vehicle to take advantage of this. My understanding is that all 991.2 have PASM and I'm pretty sure I don't have SPASM. Any high level input would be helpful on if this mod is something that I should have on the list.
Thanks!!

Add me as another happy customer. My 991.1 with PASM and PDCC seems to be more compliant in normal mode and more planted in sport after I installed the DSC controller. My memory from my 991.2 Carrera T with SPASM is getting fuzzy since I sold it over a year ago, but I would say that Carrera T was still better at handling rough city streets or dips in the course of daily driving. However I think my 991.1 with the DSC and PASM/PDCC is better in sport mode on twisty roads.

Just get a DSCv3 and you'll be good to go, regardless if you have PASM or SPASM. Makes no difference.

I agree with everything said above. Considered starting a new thread for this bold statement. Instead of replacing the stock Pirelli P Zeros early, you should install a DSC Sport Controller.
The car feels sooooo much more planted. The comfort is a secondary but a major benefit, and comes from the fact that the shocks are able to move as necessary to absorb bumps. Then the shocks stiffen up, in an instant, to prevent body roll.
Grip, and therefore speed, comes from constant tire patch contact. Stiff shocks/springs evolved from the compromise of a static shock setting to control body movement/weight shift while absorbing bumps. Versus a smooth track, a stiff shock may skip from small bump to bump on a street corner. That skipping means loss of grip as the shock dampens/smooths the suspension movement, rather than allow the wheel to rise and fall as quickly as the road surface.
The active adjustment of the DSC allows for the dynamic shock to allow the suspension move freely when necessary and stiffen up completely on one or two or all corners to help prevent excess body roll/weight shift. Theoretically, dynamic springs and shocks would eliminate completely the need for sway bars.
