.2 Carrera T or .1 GTS?

.2 Carrera T or .1 GTS?
I am debating between a .2 Carrera T with manual as the car with the most engaging driving experience *or* a 991.1 GTS manual for best driving dynamics. I’m very torn. The T is more modern with better tech and with fewer miles, but the GTS is higher trim and a little more power and maybe a little more special. Both can be had for right around the low six digit figure mark.
I think 991.1 gts manual is the same as the 991.2 T?
anyway, thoughts and opinions? These models are not readily available to drive so am just searching at the moment.

I believe there are few threads on Rennlist where 991.1 vs 991.2 are discussed.
Those same arguments should hold true for these two and your assessment of tech and lower mileage would be accurate.
The driving dynamics will be a bit different too. Even though the GTS has the larger, more powerful engine, the 991.2 T with the turbo engine will have better low-end torque and is easier to drive quickly without having to wring it out (one of the reasons I purchased a 991.2).
I don't think you could go wrong with either TBH. If you can, go drive both and see which you prefer. Afterall, it's going to be your car.

I am toying with the idea of selling my .1 GTS for a .2 T
Most everything in life is a compromise and my near-future car usage indicates I will be able to put up with a manual car, so I am thinking about compromising on the engine (with a T) and giving up N/A for a chance to have a manual. Perfect world, a .1 GTS in manual is ALL the car I would ever need.
cant go wrong with either. That said, if my GTS was manual, I would take it to my grave.. even with a PDK, there aren't many cars that will be better, different yes, better, prob not

I had a similar choice when I bought last year. In the end the more driver focused Carrera T won me over with it's newer tech, lighter weight and being a lower numbers car means it will likely hold value better.
Now that I've had it almost a year and 'made it my own' its exactly where I wanted it to be. With a simple tune its almost as fast as a GTS while still having the allure of a T.
My 2c is to go with a T if you can find one for non-silly money

Depends on your wants and needs. The .2 series are great cars and probably the better choice from a performance and modification standpoint. I’m also not a huge fan of the GTS’ all-black aesthetic.
That said, I’d personally go GTS. Last NA Carrera and that exhaust note would seal the deal for me. I’m not a drag racer so the additional performance of the .2 isn’t a big deal for me. Frankly the tech on both cars is outdated. If you have lousy roads the .2 does offer better ride quality.

.2 T will have more torque (and at lower RPM) than the .1 GTS and will also be quicker. The upgrades to the interior and telematics are small, but nice to have. Newer car, possibly lower miles, probably still within warranty.
The GTS is a great package, though, and the sound of the larger NA engine is amazing. Lower on its depreciation curve. Wider hips in the back and possibly better equipped.
Really tough call. All else being equal, I prefer newer and under warranty. That being said, the GTS is the more emotional and special car to me, especially if you can find one with fairly low miles. The T is a pretty cool package as well, of course. You can’t go wrong with either!
(I have had a 2012.5 991.1S, a 2013 911.1S w/ powerkit (same engine as the GTS), and a 991.2GTS - both the .1 and the .2 have their merits and it would be hard decision at any rate.)

Daily driver or weekend/fun car? The former I’d lean towards the .2, the latter .1. This is of course assuming you can find one to your liking. I ended up going .2 primarily because I put more emphasis on how the car was spec’d and found a perfect .2 first.

Have you driven both? How do you intend to use the car? Does the T in question have RAS or PCCBs?
The non-PCCB T's Achilles heel are the small front brakes. If you're going to track it, you'll probably want to budget for some Essex/AP front brakes. On the street, it'll never be an issue.
Having driven both I think the T is the more visceral experience, especially on the street.

track or daily driver: .2 T
fun b-roads car: .1 GTS
I personally believe that there is an emerging collector value factor with all .1 non-turbo 911's....especially the GTS which had the lowest production volume and sat at the top of the heap in terms of performance.
