Default PCM supported file formats

Hi!
I know there are a bunch of threads on the PCM which I have read.

I'd like to get this in one place. When playing music through the PCM via USB or SD Card, what formats are supported?

AIFF?FLAC?WAV?MP3?

Will the PCM play any lossless codecs?

Thank you!

I've checked and my entire library is in lossless AIFF.

Does anyone know if the PCM play AIFF?

Hi, I downloaded a lossless AIFF sample file here:

Sample AIFF Files Download - Get Examples Instantly (filesamples.com)

On my 2018 991.2, I can confirm that the file will NOT be recognised by the PCM.

However, you could use a batch converter e.g. dbpoweramp to convert from lossless AIFF to lossless ALAC

Hello.
I just wanted to bring this thread to a close.
@jchasty thank you. I can confirm that the PCM will in fact recognize and play ALAC.
I have used DBpoweramp to convert my AIFF files to ALAC and the PCM displays them with graphics and processes the audio just fine.
Now if Porsche would just expand the ridiculously low 128GB SDcard limit I could get my entire library in there : )

Thanks for the info regarding XM Sirius board. I’ve upgraded the boards in my stereo gear before and debating if I should try and do this install myself or get a pro (I’m in NYC and image it would be rather expensive). Seems like the back up camera would help to have a pro install.
