Guys that only get about 8K miles out of their tires don't care about noise.
true statement. My rears lasted me 7400 miles before down to the wear markers and inners showing cords. My T came with PS4. Had a set of Pirelli tires on a previous Porsche. Louder for sure. Hot weather grip good.
Sounds like a possible perfect storm. As stated, the P zero is loud, with 20k miles even louder. On top of pressure being too high. On top of more sound in a T, on top of you being possibly more sensitive to road noise. New tires run at the low end of pressures should lessen it a good amount. A Carrera is never going to put miles away like a luxury sedan though.
I checked the tire pressure label on door panel today and found the number was surprisingly high: 35 front and 45 rear. why does porsche suggest such high tire pressure?
Possibly for economy? You're seeing manufactures drop oil weights in the name of efficiency. Possibly because they don't think dentists driving carrera's are going to warm the tire up much? You can take a 26 cold tire and get it to 34 pretty easily, so I don't get 45psi. The car also rides terrible with juiced pressures. Similarly, I don't get how and why they fill and suggest running Mobil 0-40, arguably the worst motor oil one can put in a 100k+ car. Or how about 2k break in....

Check the manual for a complete chart of summer and winter tire pressures for full load or partial load. You will have a good understanding of the caries tire pressure recommendations based on load.
Any new tire - Michelin, Pirelli or whatever, will seem quieter and smoother compared to ones that are well worn.
It has been suggested by others on this forum that the tire pressures listed on the doorpost sticker may only be suitable for extended driving at autobahn speeds with the car fully loaded. For normal city/highway driving, I set my tires at the "comfort" and "partial load" setting on the TPM display, or perhaps +1 pound more for economy, so 31 - 32 front and 34 - 35 psi, cold.
I tried driving with the tires at 35 and 45 once -- handling was twitchy and on bumpy roads it almost knocked my fillings loose.
The car is loud AF, period! New tires or lower tire pressures will not alleviate that to meaningful levels. Soundproofing is your next project, look up dynamat or similar products.
Here is a good thread to follow https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1076...nsulation.html
^^ Please don’t do that, it’s a T! Sell the car (probably for a profit) and get a base/S/GTS. Don’t ruin the T by “transforming” it into a base with sound deadening.

This. I love the noise. Rarely listen to music in my T. Enjoy the sounds from the car. Sell it before anything else and buy something more to your liking.

I love the engine and exhaust noise, and always wish them to be louder. But the road/tire noise is a different story....

Guess I just do not notice as my hearing is not what it once was after 32 years of flying. Enjoy your car and hope you find a solution for your concern.
Regarding adding sound damping like Soundskins etc. One RL member did it with seats out and then decided the car was too quiet. Clearly, it works. But for him it worked too well.

I think from a daily driving perspective, the road noise is kind of tolerable because 1. too many things distract (traffic, police, other cars, etc ) 2. driving time usually short.
the reason I must take my T for the road trip is that there are some awesome twisty back country road in the destination I want to drive with the T. But to get there, I have to tolerate the noise issue during the trip, a true dilemma....
