I recently had an issue with Sunset (not Suncoast) and Alex over there took care of everything with class. I personally like when you get a dealership with integrity, I pretty much order in everything and avoid my local dealer at all cost, Sunset is usually my first stop, even-though I hate paying for shipping and have realized if i spend more then $250? I get free shipping, which can be dangerous for me.

Did you try swapping the coil to another cylinder to see if the code followed? Fake PIWIS or not, that would certainly be enough proof, no?

I just bought a new one and will test it tomorrow. Suncoast's policy is that only an authorized dealer can inspect andtest a part for failure if you want it warrantied.

Easy Solution,
1) First speak to the Parts Manager, not the guy answering the phone.
2) Have them send you a new coil Pak, pay for it, and return the defective one with the understanding after they test it and find it defective, they will credit the new one plus shipping.
To be fair, waiting a year to find out its bad is not good.

A manager called me several days later. He finally said he might be willing to send me one coil, but didn't get into details on what new terms would be involved. By that time I had already moved on and bought one through my independent garage.
I didn't "wait a year." The coils I bought were installed within 2 weeks of arriving at my house in May 2020, and were in the car with no problem until the fault codes started flying a couple of weeks ago. A PIWIIS scan pointed to the coil in the #1 cylinder as the probable root cause of all the other codes.
