Default Sunroof Weather Strip Adhesive?

My sunroof seal is in good shape but the front edge that attaches to the sunroof, the adhesive underneath it has become dried out. It looks like a clear strip of thin adhesive tape... anyone know what it is? Double sided foam tape would be too thick for the job.

Any assistance is appreciated!

TIA!

grab the parts pdf for your car from here

the section you want is 811, and 00 for metal, 05 for glass. I believe you're looking for part #2 in either diagram, which is 991 566 455 00 (metal) / 991 566 475 00 (glass)

glass:

and metal:

I believe that’s the seal itself. My seal is fine. It looks like it has a thin film adhesive underneath the front lip of it that attaches it to the sunroof. Just wondering what that is or a good substitute.

Thank you for your reply.

I have some thin tape that may work if you want to try. Let me know and we can make arrangements to meet up.

Can you provide a pic on the actual part/area where you used this?
Thanks!
