Look for the Fidelity Platinum thread here on Rennlist. You can pick up a 10yr/100k mile Warranty for about the same price as what you mentioned. I did just a few months ago for $4200. Once you current warranty expires or your mileage goes over 10k, the prices go up significantly.

In general - and this isn't specific to Porsche - it's a good idea to at the very least have a cheap OBD-II scanner so that in the largely unlikely events of having your car's CEL come on, you will be able to get the generic code and look it up. It's not perfect, but it can help. I use a cheap bluetooth dongle connected to Torque Pro on my mobile phone, for example.
