I also have center locks. For that location I would plug it. I carry everything in the frunk to do a plug if that happened on the road, far from home. Given it's location you wouldn't even need to remove the wheel from the car to plug it. I've done a fair amount of plugs over the last 10 years on my 993, 991.1 and I've never had an issue.

how do you plug your tires ??

When I plug tires recently, the plug really doesn't do a good job sealing around the edges. It still leaks a bit. I just have a plug kit from an auto parts store.

Another option no one has mentioned is Ebay. I have been able to find many good tires recently on Ebay for about 1/3 of the original price with 90% tread. Some have repairs but they normally work fine as long as they are not near the sidewall. Many sellers try and trick you by not showing the repaired area. You have to ask. Some will also say "no repairs" in the ad.

Good move. This is one of those situations where I personally would plug it and watch closely but there is no doubt this tire would be compromised which is likely not worth the risk.
