My 2019, that I bought brand new Oct 2020 was also an overlooked car. This car in Boston must not be listed on many of the common car selling sites. One could negotiate a great deal on it.

With Guards Red the overall favorite in most all categories, I have yet to see another one in Northern NV or NorCal in over a year of ownership and driving in both states. Doesn’t that seem strange? I’ve never even seen one at any of the CA dealers I have visited.

Not to mention that Porsche just ran a “Tournament of Colors” on Twitter and Sapphire Blue won the entire thing!

Here is Sapphire Blue Metallic beating Miami Blue for the championship:

Admittedly, I am a bit biased, though...

I’m surprised platinum silver didn’t make either the Hagerty list or Porsches color bracket. I’ve grown to love it more and more over the years.

Three of the final four were blues... It would have been 4 of the 4 if Mexico Blue had beat Guards Red.

Default Missing a Blue

I'm surprised there isn't a mention of Aqua Blue Metallic in the brackets unless it wasn't made long enough to list.

I think its funny that green is such a popular color, yet from my knowledge they barely offer green as a regular color.

Also a youngish (35) owner driving a Boomer Black 911 lol.

As someone who has ordered two 991s in green, I find it funny as well. Trying to recall any green among the series production offerings on the 991, and Aventurine for the 992 and 718 is barely a green. And Guards Red is so rare I've been calling it the new PTS for years now. It's really something to see a 993, 996, 997, or 991 in Guards Red—and the later you go, the rarer it gets.

Porsche's tournament looks far more representative to me. Blues have long been super popular, with multiple choices even within Porsche's limited choices, but the "non-colors" have long reigned supreme: Silvers, grays, black, and white. Some models offer two of each, and I'm constantly amazed by the service lot in back of my local Porsche dealer: ~98% (to 100%…) of the cars are one of those four "colors." Which more or less matches to many parking lots and freeways these days.

OP, interesting post, thanks. I do wonder about what exactly was asked, tough to evaluate the data otherwise. Like most polls probably not spelled out clearly.
Was it a general question of what color you like to see on a Porsche? Or which color would you actually own and pay for?

Two very different questions, and looking at the results versus what is on dealer lots, both new and used (black, silver/gray, white and all shades between) I would think people are answering the former question.

(I have a GT silver 99.2 GTS and a Guards Red 718 base, so I got it covered either way!)

That's a great point. My 991 is white - and I looked all over to find that color. So I think there might be an element of "what we like to look at" or "what we would drive if we weren't worried about what anyone thinks". I still do think the colorful ones are so much fun.

And for what it's worth, I, too, have been a member of the Agate Grey club. Its a great color - I had this in 2015.

Agreed - I have yet to see another Graphite Blue in the DFW area. I love the unique color as it is classy, but not attention grabbing.
