Default Sport function question

Hi,
I just picked up a 12.5 991S without sport chrono. I've had several 997's and when you hit the sport button it activated the sport or firm shock setting. When I hit the sport button only the exhaust and throttle action and not the shock setting is activated. Is this normal on a non sport chrono car or has something been modified on my car? Thanks for the feedback.

Sport Plus will auto activate the more aggressive shock settings, but in Sport, you will have to manually select the more aggressive shocks.

I believe that in the 991S, "Sport Chrono" (clock/stopwatch binnacle on the dash) enables you to use "Sport Plus" settings. That gives yet sharper throttle sharper response and faster PASM shock action than regular mode or selecting the "Sport",mode. It tightens the variable transmission mountings and enables "Launch Control" starts. The switched exhaust system is the separate "Sport Exhaust" option, independent of the transmission mode settings. The separate button with the shock absorber icon that lights up has to do with the anti-skid nanny that controls throttle action when car control conditions are not met or the operator wants to be in charge.

The icon you're referring to is the chassis control button, "sport" vs "normal"

The description you gave is for the PSM button, which is a car with skidding tire marks behind it. With SC, your options there are on, sport, and off.
