991.2 rattles🤔
Hello folks,
Picked up a 2018 T recently and both door cards have a irritating vibration/rattle as does the cup holder which opening fixes.
I’ve done a search on here and online and can only find issues with cabriolets.
Power for the course or is it a case of back to the dealer?
I’ve had a few 911’s over the years and the 991 has really impressed me so far, but I thought they would have sorted the rattles out by now😉

Luck of the draw, with 15k+ miles, my '19 C4S is tight and quiet. That hasn't been the case with other vehicles I've owned.
There are videos out there depicting fixes for "911 door panel rattle fixes", this is the phrase I used to search.
Chasing interior noises is difficult as the acoustics can mask the actual noise location.
Good luck.

factory warranty will include rattle chasing.
CPO does not.
exercise dealership visits accordingly.

Rattles are pretty hard to chase down, sometimes the actual source and apparent source are not co-located.
I finally found one that was really bugging me - it turns out it was the passenger side seat belt buckle. Everytime my wife rode with me in the car, I'd have a weird rattle sound over there afterwards. I fixed it by raising the buckle all the way up and wedging it, insertion end up, against the side of the door panel.

Thanks all I hoped it might be something simple. I wouldn’t attempt removing the door panels or speakers myself as I have an uncanny knack for breaking things..!
I got it from the local Porsche dealer so I’ll get them to look into it.
The roads round me are absolutely terrible to be fair, my GT4 dash rattled badly when I first got it but miraculously disappeared after a few months.
Cheers.

I find that my 2018 C4S rattles a lot less on rough roads when I use comfort pressures, partial load during the summer months. 29/33 psi f/r. Winters on 19s is 30/33.

I’m just back from an early morning drive and the pressures are indeed at full load so I’ll try the comfort settings and see how that goes.
Thanks a lot, I didn’t even think of tire pressures.

I spent a considerable amount of effort working on derattling my interior, particularly the door cards. Happy to say it’s now basically raffle free.
The plastic panels toward the front is where most of them come from, luckily they easily pop off.
Get some felt tape and add it in areas where there is plastic on plastic contact.
Next put some approximately 6” x 6” panels of dynamat or soundskin like material on the rear of the panel
Also make sure the two factory rubber plastic pin condoms are in place.
This should only take maybe 15 min to do and require no tools but a pair of scissor to cut the tape and sound deadening. A credit card can help get the panel started coming off, start at the thin side toward rear of door. The majority of your rattles will go away. Trust me on this one.
