Have you ever seen the horror of what happens when a wrap is on the car too long or in the sun a lot? It's a disaster, and sometimes causes serious clear coat damage. They're only recommended to stay on the car for around 2 years, unless it stays in a temp controlled garage and out of the sun. You don't know what's under it until you try to remove it.
PPF now comes in many colors and designs, that is the way to go IMO. My car has full body PPF and I don't worry about it at all. It even saved me from a ding when my son opened the SUV door on it.

This is the way. Paint is safe underneath. Rinse repeat in 8 years. Dont pay more than 1500. and find a good shop.
Make the original shop repaint your hood correctly. Paint shops suck. Involve your insurance if you must. Insist on approving a spray out prior to paint.

What gets me nervous about a wrap is that they take the car apart in certain areas and I'm just nervous that whoever does it screws it up putting it back together.....

Ask for references, see what other cars they have done.
At the last shop I used, the 911 was an 'average cost' car that the wrapped, did paint correction, and ceramic coated.
