991.2 comfort and internal noise
Hi
Which Porsche 991.2 has the most comfort and the lowest internal noise?
I've heard that Targa has the most noise, then comes the convertible and then the coupe.
Is this right?

18 way seats if you have reasonable BMI. Not GTS if you want interior quiet. You might need to take car in for interior sound damping application. With butyl.

Most likely candidate is a standard Carrera with 19-inch wheels and tires.
Coupe would be the least wind noise (and maybe the least noise of all), but the Cabriolet—with the top up—might have some advantages due to less rear window and its roof materials.
Finding standard Carreras isn't difficult. Finding them with 19s is (though this is easily fixed at the parts counter), as is finding them with a manual gearbox if you want one.

As above -- coupe, smallest wheels, 18way seats, additional noise dampening as these cars lack some in key areas.
That said, if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable car, consider something else. Like, literally anything else.

^^^ What they said.
Tire pressure also plays a huge role in comfort and noise in my ‘17 C2 coupe. Just going from standard to comfort pressures (psi numbers per the owner’s manual) I can tell a big difference. Standard is much rougher ride and noticeably louder.

The Targa is just as quiet as a Coupe, and not that different from a Cab.

Just traded in my great sounding ‘05 997 S (Cargraphic exhaust) for a base 991.2 Carrera coup with glass sunroof... even with 20-inch S wheels it remains quiet... depressingly quiet... as in you could hear a pin drop... my first TT- sometimes I wonder if the engine is even on... thank god I have a NA Lambo Evo when I want to hear some noise...

I have come to realize that owning a 911 is an acquired taste. You learn to appreciate its' attributes and deal with the weaker issues. As others have said, it isn't quiet. Most of us don't mind the noise. The ride isn't plush, and the short wheelbase can make things a bit choppy. All in though, the ride is pretty good for something that handles as well as it does. The front is roomy for a sports car but the seats can be a bit of a difficult fit if you have a larger frame. When driven like a Porsche should be driven, it chugs fuel at a healthy rate, but if driven normally, the fuel consumption is typical of other cars. Storage capacity is great for a sports car. Given the weak points, if the bug bites you, the saddest part of your drive is parking it. Start test driving.

I will say, my 991.2 T (with less sound deadening than all other 991.2 models, sans GT) is quiet compared to my R35 GT-R, but, it is NOT a quiet car. The road noise is intense; but, as stated above, its part of the experience! Quiet = buy another car. 👍

^I agree with that suggestions, or a Macan. My cousin's Macan S was super quiet inside the cabin, you can barely hear his sports exhaust. In comparison, my 991.2 Carrera S is much louder and the road noise can be heard very clearly.

Three Wheelin'
Panamera is great too... but at that price point I'd have to go Audi RS6 wagon. Hell yeah.

I have zero issues with the sound levels in my car. I have Soul headers and sport cats on my car with the stock PSE exhaust.
I non-sport mode, on the highway, all I hear is a little wind noise and mostly tire noise, that's it. We can all have a very easy conversation in the car at highway speeds without any issues (wife and daughter).
Personally, I don't think the cars are loud at all. Even compared to other new cars. My GTI however is noticeable louder than my 911 (road noise, booming, squeaking, tires etc).
A friend of mine has an e91 station wagon that is super loud inside too.
When I nail the throttle, the Soul comes out to play and it sounds glorious!

I enjoy engine sound as much as anyone, but tire noise is simply unadulterated din. I'm disappointed that Porsche hasn't installed a noise cancellation system to offer drivers the option of reducing it. Such a feature would add much less weight than sound deadening and could be turned off for those who want to degrade their hearing at a rapid rate. Meanwhile, I could get my jollies in a quiet car while I was shattering speed limits.
