Great oil. I run it in everything, including GT3's, turbo Carrera's, VAG 2.0's, etc. Currently just changed my Carrera T with Motul x Max 0-40 because I wasn't seeing much 5-40 available when I ordered, possibly because of the switch to the gen 2, which I haven't tried yet. Big fan of Motul.
I have two observations in my 991.1 GTS using Motul X-Cess 5W-40 compared to factory Mobil 1. First, upon cold start-up using Mobil 1 there was quite a bit of engine clatter until it reached operating temperature. Porsche service claimed this was normal. The Motul eliminated the clatter. Second, after a big, hard run using Mobil 1, I would check oil level in my garage and noticed more often than not it required a top up. Under the same conditions, the Motul has never required top up. Just my two cents from So. Cal. running the Angeles Crest.
The Blackstone Oil Analysis for this oil is disappointing. I am moving on to M1 5W-50.
Yeah, like I said in my posts 3 months ago. It contains no Molyb. as far as I know, not sure why. Without reviewing my UOA's I would have said its is fine as well, engine runs fairly quiet and does not burn this oil that readily, but the wear metals are disappointing at least for me. YMMV.

My observations with the same oil and same car are slightly different. The cold start "chain?" clatter is still there for me, but not present all the time. On the subject of oil usage, I agree, I now have a little over 4300 miles on the car and oil gauge has not moved a single bar which is not how it was on Mobil 1
I will pull a blackstone report once i do an oil change and make my decision based on wear items.

It also shears down which is my biggest gripe. I have two disappointing UOA's on my car with Motul 5W40.

Any experience with M1 EP? It shows better results than standard M1 synthetic
No I am not an oil expert at all, I have just been following @LexVan for a couple years, and looking at UOA's posted here and the M1 5W50 cars always look better.
My 987.2 has had nothing but Motul 5w 40 8100 X-cess for 6 years now. I have not had a UOA done but I can tell you 2 things. First and foremost my car doesn’t burn one drop of oil in between changes. Secondly, I have had zero drop off in performance in the same span of time. At least that’s what my @ss tells me. No mechanical issues either.
Petza914 posted this here, https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...le-result.html I personally think if its Porsche approved and you warm up your engine before playing your good to go, but this thread made me think of the visual and thought it might help someone.

CAVEAT - I do not use DT 40 myself, but this is the old formula for DT 40 from 2017. Current formula for DT 40 has much higher Moly. Just an FYI for readers.
