Default Another squirrelly alignment

No wonder why it felt squirrelly, wonder why no one knows how to align these cars.

it’s not so much that they don’t know how as they are lazy. It takes many back and forth adjusting because when you get one thing in spec and change another it will change the original settings so it requires patience and many iterations.

You've just described aligning virtually any car.

any car with 4 wheel alignment, yes. The handling characteristics of the 911 accentuate minor discrepancies making small out of tolerance specifications particularly noticeable

I worked with an experienced alignment tech on my C7 Z06 and it took us nearly 3 hours to get it perfectly dialed in. Not many cars have camber, caster , toe and thrust adjustable on all 4 wheels. The 911 is very sensitive as well to small changes.

Assuming that there is not some physical damage to chassis structures, suspension components and wheels, any competent mechanic using a decent alignment rack and any patience at all should be able to get very close to the recommended specs.

Last time I replaced tires, the tech at my dealership bet me that my car could benefit from an alignment- despite my feeling that it was perfect as it was. He invited me to watch him use their new Hunter rack. We discussed the factory specs for my car (C2S with SPASM) from among the rest of the specific specs for 991.1 models, and my intended use of the car. He has a race car. I used to, but my car is not a race car and I no longer fool myself about aggressive street diving. So I took his recommended factory spec. The result- an obvious noticeable improvement in handling and absolutely consistent tire temp increases across all four wheels as tires warm up. Well worth the time and $$$.
