After lots of going back and forth, everything is working again for me. Turned out to be an issue with data services being terminated somehow even though the car still showed up in my ATT acct as active and I was still being charged for it.

They did that to us as well .. in 2019. Said we auto-renewed, then when it died, they said I had let the subscription lapse. Well, good .. I'm glad you got it sorted.

So, still Google Earth in AMER and Sat Map in EMEA (ROW)?

I noticed, I had a Software update done by my OPC when changing from Google Earth to Sat Maps, so not sure FW updates are done over-air?

This made me smile this morning. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...tegic-priority

I KNOW what I want .. and some cheap Japanese rental cars .. and even Fords have it. I want to get in my Macan and it automatically connects and syncs to my Smartphone and pulls up all my appropriate App icons on the center touch screen automatically. Until Porsche and the rest of the car manufacturers figure that out, they're all antiques. If Tesla can do it .. anybody can do it.

So it is back up and working on mine, finally. My subscription is up for renewal and I'm not sure I will do it this time. Not happy about the several month lapse in google maps with no info from Porsche (or an apology). Apple carplay seems to work very well.

How Porsche has handled the entire event is beyond belief. NO explanations. NO communications with their customers. NO "all's well" communication. Weird, as in beyond really annoying.

Prior to all these issues I primarily displayed google earth with a subscription and using my phone as the hotspot, no at&t car sim. Is anyone doing the same now?

Well, I'm sorry to say that today, my Google Earth is no longer loading just like before the 'fix' .. just spins and spins. So basically I got two months from April 3rd to June 2nd. I'll be at the dealership in the morning for the passenger seat airbag sensor recall for Macan .. they'll be hearing about it.

Google Earth was flaky yesterday in my 95B.2 Macan, which is definitely still supported. There seemed to be some system-level glitches happening.

I hope this is very temporary .. I'm running out of patience with Porsche on this. Hopefully I won't lose my temper tomorrow at the dealer.

So, showed up at the dealer for the passenger airbag sensor recall .. and they don't have any parts to do the repair. And they made the appointment mind you. Then when I asked about Google Earth, my service manager said it's still an issue and they had no idea when it would be addressed. Then he asked if I had the big software update recall done .. 'well, no, first I'd heard of it'. So, they took it in and an hour and a half later .. they bring it around ready .. and the first thing that happens is the Navi loads up in an all new version of Google Earth. Only this time it says 'SAT Map' on the selection sidebar .. just like Frank's does in Europe. Ok, I'll take it. Have to go back after August for the other recall when they'll have parts. I was told that they are having Pandemic related supply chain issues at Porsche for electronic parts .. chips, sensors etc. ... and they haven't had a new car shipment in weeks .. salesmen all sitting around doing nothing.

Remember the cartoon, "Suspicions Confirmed?" Just put down my glass of wine and sprinted to the garage to check our 911's map feature. NO GOOGLE MAPS. But the spinning arrow is almost, almost intoxicating. Almost...once one gets past the being annoyed part.

Get to a dealer for this big software update. My invoice receipt calls it: Campaign WMD1. They said it was a system wide update for all vehicle systems in the car. SAT Map navi now working fine.
