I want the same. I’d pay money to have no backfire pops and crackles.

I had a 991.2 GTS where I’d drive in either normal or sports plus for the smoother exhaust sound and no crackles.

I now drive a 991.1 GTS and it has the backfire sounds in both sport modes. I’d love to turn it off. The exhaust sounds great anyway, it doesn’t need the boy racer pops. The nice smooth and organised howl is wonderful.

I can turn the crackles off with a tune? I’d probably not want the performance boost. I’d like the stock performance levels but with no backfire.

I reached out to APR via a local dealer and they said they were unable to code out backfire in Sport mode. I wonder if Softronic would do it? I'm in the same camp, don't want/need a tune, do want backfire coded out.

Damn, that's unfortunate. I recall reading somewhere that they could.

Yes me too! Seems that a true "individual mode" would sell.

I'm the opposite. I like the pops and crackles. I have a tune and my .1 is fast as F but I can't hear any pops .

Plenty of pops for me... Maybe a bit too many.

My R8 naturally produced the pops and crackles and they were pronounced after I replaced the exhaust. Thinking about it, i'm not sure I'd really appreciate fake exhaust pops/crackles. I don't have pse, and I have the 991.2 turbos, so I'm not entirely sure what to expect from the exhaust note. I'm sure louder, but since the exhaust will magnify whatever is there, I don't expect much pops and crackles.

I too hate the fake fireworks and would pay to have them removed.

I guess being one of those form follows function types, making a bunch of snap, crackle, pop noises for the sake of making noise is something I don't get. If going faster produces more noise, that's different.
