I'm in the midatlantic and it rarely gets into the 20s but CAN get into the single digits. I left my PS4S on my Boxster last year in my unheated garage and suffered no ill effects, and plan to do the same this year with my 911, as I have a "winter car". Maybe, possibly it may help that when the temps do crawl above 45 I'll back the car out and take it for a spin.

I can't help but feel this "if the tires are exposed to air colder than 45 they'll disintegrate" stuff is CYA for the tire manufacturer and can't be THAT serious...

If the tire gets really cold and below the rubber and other elements can go through what’s called glass transition temperature. This means that the softening properties and the crystals or chemical bonds will not go back to original configuration when the tire warms again.
As a result, the tire and rubber will be very hard and will not soften when warmed up and therefore render the tire useless next year or at least not perform as original, ie longer stopping distance, less grip, etc

I've stored tires in my unheated garage for about 40 winters and never had an issue.

(note when my PSS got messed up they sat on the garage floor with no barrier) Also an unheated garage detached from the house. Thankfully I do not live there any more and the basement is much closer.

This is crazy. I contacted my new service advisor and he stated preferred climate controlled but the garage will do. Contacted my sales advisor, from s different Porsche dealership, he stated the same. Just need to be inside.

Watch out for atmospheric contamination in utility spaces, like from furnaces or other equipment.

Exactly what I'm doing minus the bags. I'll take my chances.
