Default Steering Wheel Upgrade - I have questions

Hi Everyone:

I just upgraded from a PDK Multifunction steering wheel in my 2015 GTS to a new 991.2 multifunction wheel. Everything went well, paddle shifters work but none of the buttons are working which are the same buttons on the old wheel as on the new wheel so it should be the same but I can't figure out why. I've read you need to re-program but if the wheel is essentially the same, why?

Any suggestions on getting the buttons to work? Do I need to bring it to a dealer?

New Steering Wheel

if it's anything like the PCM stuff, I'm guessing the steering control module is in the steering wheel, or the fingerprint of the steering wheel doesn't match your VIN, so it won't work because it's "stolen"

You need a little controller module. I had one but sold it because I didn’t want to use the buttons. I’m sure someone here can chime in with a link.

I did the exact same mod to my 2015 Turbo S and everything works exactly like the old one. However, I used the little module that adapts the signals. I got my module from a tech in China, who has since sold out to one of the big parts houses. Sorry, my memory fails me as to who carries the module. There are several threads here on how to do it. A search will come up with what you need. A dealer may be able to reprogram it but I don't know if that's possible. I'd start by talking to your dealer.

Just did this upgrade myself, you'll need this adapter, Paul is amazing with customer support. No need for dealer programming.

How is your steering wheel nice and thick. My OEM 991.2 steering wheels is thin and I hate it. Where did you get yours ?
