Default Tire skates / car dollies

Anyone use tire skates / car dollies for winter storage? I’m looking to get more space in my garage. Some brand reviews say bolt ends with nuts hit wider tires. Any brands people use?

Not sure what brand these are but they are good quality and the bolts don't hit tires. I got them from a friend. If you had a really big wheel where it hit, it would probably only need a 1/2" or so spaceer to clear it.

I've yet to find any that are worth a damn at a reasonable price point. All the ones I've found so far have wheels that aren't exactly round, are solid metal, and do not have bearings. This makes even my ~1100 pound car nearly impossible to roll around unless the floor is glass smooth.

I have a set of these and they suffer from the above issues:

I also have a set of these and they too suffer from the above issue:

Between the two, the V plate style (first pictured) works much better for larger wheels than the cup style with the bars.

Used the HF ones with my S2000 quite a bit before getting a lift. Thought they worked pretty good. Could move myself. Wouldn't move on a regular basis

Thanks for the feedback. Looking for my GTS and concern about how easy to move as well as the size of the tires.

This is timely...I was just thinking of getting the cup/bar style form HF, until I saw their weight limit is only 1,000lbs. So I was planning to get the V shape ones from HF...their weight limit is 1,500 lbs..

If you want to try them out, feel free to swing by and borrow mine.

Not gonna lie, they both suck, but the V shape ones suck slightly less. I'm pretty sure all eight are not in use right now, but the trick will be finding a complete set of four...

Thanks for the offer. May take you up on it next couple weeks. Surprised to hear they suck. I just found these...wonder if they're better. Sure looks sturdy though.
By the way, you part of the local Porsche and Pancakes group?

Hmm, the wheels on those look like they might be rubber, and have a skate bearing on the axle. If so, those will be infinitely better than either set I have.

And no, I'm not. Haven't even heard of it, but that's not surprising given I tend to hang out with the younger crowds.

I've got a set of the heavy duty Harbor Freight ones... they were good enough for me to be able to move a Land Rover Discovery 1 with no wheels around by myself
