page 248 of 991.2 owners manual up at 90 km/hr (56 mph) and down at 60 km/hr (37 mph).

Maybe you have a ducktail or a very special car

Interesting. My '17 4S says ~75 up and ~50 down.

Hey, it isn't an exact science, maybe its by rpm and tire diameters vary.....

my 981 went up at 76 and that felt like a look I'm speeding indicator.
up at 55 is too low, the tail goes up when you a puttering aroung town.

People have upgraded to ducktails on the 991 and from what I've read, you can take it to the dealer to have them disable the spoiler motor when making that swap. So I'm sure they could do it without the ducktail too.

That said, I'd imagine there is probably an electrical connector to the rear spoiler that you can disconnect, though it might give a weird error code.

I put my spoiler up manually when the roads are wet. It improves traction and makes it safer. Also when driving on the highway and windy conditions spoiler up keeps the car planted better.

if you have sport pasm at least on the 991.1 (not sure about 991.2) the spoiler I believe raises higher than a car with regular or no Pasm. I have the regular Pasm on mine and have never been able to see it raised.

Also if I recall the spoiler raising higher with the sunroof open also applies to sport Pasm.

Someone else here can either confirm or correct me if I am incorrect.

You’re close. PASM-Sport (which I have) doesn’t make it rise higher but the sunroof open will make it rise about 25 mm higher.

If the car is programmed for Sport Design package (GTS bumper and wing) the wing will rise 20 mm less overall because of the kink in the GTS wing.

I just though about it and I think that the reason why I see mine is because I’m short. At 5’5”, I’m sitting much closer to the dashboard and it’s lowered all the way down with my seatback straight like a race seat. The angle at which I have to set my mirror probably is the reason why I see the top 20 mm of the wing when it’s up.

6' here, normal spoiler, SPASM, and the wing takes up a not insignificant chunk of my rear window when it's up and the sunroof is closed.

I think you're onto something with the gts wing raising less.

I noticed that, one day, at the dealership. A GTS was parked and the wing was up but significantly lower than mine. I went to talk to them and it turns out that when you install it, you need to get the car reflashed with the Sport Design option.

since then, I’ve acquired a PIWIS3 and have played with it.

Who cares. You can't see it while driving anyway

that's actually kind of what's being discussed for a number of pages here.

Yes, I get that. But what exactly is the issue? Push the button if you want it up.

Take a super quick four and a half seconds and read the first post. He wants it down.
