Default This Fidelity PLATINUM warranty post is different. Negative experiences? 10 Year?

I know. I know. Another Fidelity post.

Here are my 2 questions about a Fidelity Platinum Warranty.

1) Please tell me about any negative experiences you've had with a Fidelity Platinum claim that would have been otherwise covered under an extended Porsche warranty without problem.

2) Anyone purchased a 10 year Fidelity Platinum warranty? For the price it seems like a no-brainer particularly with a car like mine which is loaded with technology & features like rear-axle-steering. Plus that the warranty can be cancelled at anytime with a pro-rated refund. Am I missing something?

Not your best fit answer, but for what its worth...
I'm in the market for a warranty also. I was "roughly" quoted (today) $8k to $14k; using Fidelity; via Porsche dealer in Omaha. That's for 2013 911 Carrera, with 44k miles; exact coverage not known yet. I was quoted with Endurance 5-year 100k exclusionary $3,952. That price seams great! But will I have to fight them in court later... Fidelity I hear is far better (from a mechanic and a dealer insight I had), and linked with Porsche dealers, which is great. I'm not giving up on Fidelity yet, but its a large amount of $$$.

I can give you a perspective from the repair shop side of things. Fidelity warranty is very fast to respond to independent repair facilities that submit claims on behalf of their customers. FW has a tendency to want to pay a labor rate below the average for repair shops in the general vicinity. FW is very thorough in inspecting the repair order (part numbers, prices and book time), they typically will approve what it put in front of them if it is justified.

On average, a work order that is associated with a FW claim will take 1-2 days longer than a self pay customer because there are checks and balances to ensure that the claim process is genuine and valid.

Didn't have a negative experience, but had them on my S4. Fidelity Platinum paid for a voltage regulator on my alternator. Fidelity Powertrain paid for a new DSG transmission, $10k. My service advisor said they are the best to work with.

So it sounds like nobody's had a negative experience as far as processing a legitimate reasonable claim.

Shop around. mjourdan@mossymotors.com offers nice discounts on Fidelity policies. But, rates increase significantly with mileage and age.

A couple of weeks back, I bought the factory porsche 4yr 48 warranty with my CPO. I was beyond the 4yr, but they can see the porsche warranty at the time of the cpo sale. I did call around becuase I thought the 4k cost was high, but it turns out, Fidelity and others were much higher. 5500-7500. I'm glad I did, just for the piece of mind.

We just bought an extended warranty policy from Porsche for our 2016, after comparing with equivalent Fidelity. After negotiating both, Porsche was just slightly higher in cost, and we preferred it for the direct connection. The dealer did waiving the cost of an inspection - car was nine months out of warranty - Fidelity rep would have written policy without an inspection. YMMV.

Im in the same boat, seriously considering Fidelity warranty over the past 2 years...just havent gone thru with it.

I had Fidelity warranty on my Audi A8 which came thru 5x over. Easy, no questions from dealer, they handled all the paperwork and contact w Fidelity. I just paid my deductible which i think was 50 or 100$. They replaced the MMI which was a 100$ part not counting labor. A whole host of other electrical gremlins, sunroof, auto trunk. etc....

I would also like to recommend Michael Jourdan at Mossy Motors if you are interested in a Fidelity warranty. 3/36 Gold coverage on my C4 for $2,800 after the discount.

There was a guy on another Rennlist forum that took his car in because the window would not roll up or down, and when it was taken apart what they found was a loose connector...not a bad switch. So Fidelity would not cover it. Outside of that, I've never had an issue and the service manager at a local Porsche dealership said Fidelity was easier than Porsche CPO on claims.

Then that same dealer was filing a claim on my car and they said that Fidelity's reimbursement for labor was $100 less than what they charge and tried to get me to pay it...and I of course said "no".

The other point is this: I don't get maintenance done at the dealer because it's a gouge compared to a private shop, and that's at times where your car is when you find out something is wrong. I want the freedom to go where I want. Plus my local dealer is a sh*t show because they are so busy. They lost my car for a week when my PDK failed.

Considering Fidelity because my car only has a few weeks for CPO left. However it's a repeat CPO (was sold as CPO twice in it's 46k mile life) so I'm wondering if very many of the issues have already been ironed out.

At the least I was considering the powertrain warranty, not sure if it's worth the $2-3k though
