Saying Hello
Hello All - very happy to be here! After tons of research and evaluation I decided the 911T was for me. I was between a T and a 993. I have friends that have older and newer 911s so I heard both perspectives. No right or wrong answer but it all worked out. Previously I have owned BMW’s (and still do), this was my first foray into Porsche.
Quite an experience getting my car! The seller who I formed a nice relationship with was out of state and had a note on the car. I never actually saw the car in person so I used the combination of PPI and covered transport to get the car here. I had the car under an option contract for over 40 days. I structured the deal this way because I was in the middle of a mortgage refinance to take advantage of these low rates and it was taking forever to close. So keeping this deal alive for that time period became quite stressful. During this time the inventory of 911T’s started to shrink it seems.
So anyway, it all worked out! Received the car two weeks ago. After I put about 50 miles on the car I cracked my collarbone clean in half on my bike and needed a surgery that I am recovering from now. My car is a manual so I can’t drive it for a little while. Of course, I cannot sit idle so I am ordering mods and getting tint, PPF, etc. I am also doing the 911R decals in Riviera Blue. I wanted to do a little something to set the car apart and I looked at every decal/stripe option out there. I settled on this idea based on the fact that the 911R is a 991 and the spirit of the car matches the T. I know this won’t be for everyone but I think it will come out really nice.
My T is white, manual, 18ways, T interior package, slick top, etc. It’s everything I wanted other than RAS. I also would have preferred Miami Blue but I was happy compromising because there are not many available in MB with the other options I wanted. After I get bored with the 911R stripes, I plan to wrap the car in Gulf Blue with Gulf Orange stripes most likely.
I really got an cream puff here! Car is a 2019 and only has 3.5k miles on it. Literally brand new, no marks on the car was pampered by the first owner, even still had the protective film on the PCM screen.
This forum and all of you have been extremely helpful in both making my decision to buy and all the mods that I am planning! Soul cats, tips on order. Liking the idea of the FVD tune and their US location is around the corner from me. Could also go APR.
Here are a few pics. Also an update vid sent yesterday from my friend Conner who is doing the PPF and tints.
Given what is happening in the world, I am filled with gratitude and joy to have achieved this milestone. Wishing you all the best and I look forward to participating here.
All the best!

Congrats and welcome... Perfect "T" spec IMO and worth waiting for!
As I'm sure you've read, opinions are mixed on RAS - some folks feel the car is more puristic without it anyway.
Interested to see how the decals look when you get them...

Are you doing the 911R side stripes as well as top stripes? I would definitely do the side stripes as they are historic too. In blue would be so nice. Congrats. Put your option list up. How T’s are optioned is always interesting.

Congrats on a very nice find (and with MT to limit the potential for other drivers).
The forum has a longstanding (unwritten) rule that orange side-markers must be removed, destroyed and replaced with clear ones within a month of purchase.
Two major areas of concern..
1. The stroller precariously leaning next to the passenger door.
2, The 743 tires next to the drivers side door.
The panels on these cars are strangely soft.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Congratulations. Nice looking T. Funny you mentioned the 993. I’ve been lusting after one for the past year, though I have never driven one. I think they look great. Whenever my eye starts wandering towards other Porsches such as the GT4 / Spyder / 718 GTS 4.0, I just have to get in my T and drive it. Afterwards I think to myself that there is no reason to switch. My T is plenty quick, sounds good to me and I love the red Carrera T interior. Mine is very similar spec to yours except it has the RAS.

Are the stripes on top of the PPF? They look great. Painted blue wheels and side mirrors would complete the look.

Great find and great plans for it. I, too, love that your daughter is hanging out with you. Lost my 30 yr old daughter to brain cancer two years ago and photos like this bring back a flood of great memories I had with my daughter. Enjoy all your time with her - they grow up too fast.
