Default Washer fluid

A number of years ago I got some Porsche washer fluid that was orange in color. Wondering if anyone knew if that is still current? Not sure what color fluid is being used now and /or if that matters? Wonder if the ingredients have changed? Wouldn’t want it to precipitate and clog anything. Thanks

Don't think the color matters but if you prefer orange Rain-X makes it and it's available locally at auto-parts stores, Home Depot etc..

There’s ‘Porsche’ fluid?

Oh my. I just use the blue stuff from Publix. Years back my MBZ dealership used to leave a couple extra bottles of some German concentrate. Both seem to work well enough, but I’d be curious what’s recommended.

Washer fluid is heavy. I run empty. Save about 10 pounds and pick up 1 HP.

Wow. Well, that is a liter of concentrate; which is how things work in Euro-sausage land.

I think I found the stuff I used to use:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...20group%20%231

$6, dump it in, then fill with water.

Really?! Rain has nothing to do with using wiper fluid. And I have a Harley and new G Wagon so I have more things to play with other than my Porsche, which I drive as much as I prefer to.

I use nextzett 92100815 Kristall Klar Washer Fluid Concentrate - 8.5 fl. oz.
"Developed for leading German car makers, Kristall Klar is over 100 times more concentrated than typical blue washer fluid. Each bottle makes 7 gallons of high performance washer fluid..."
"...it mixes completely without leaving any residue in the washer tank and contains water softeners so it can be used effectively with regular tap water. Prevents mineral build-up in the washer system and spray jets for optimum operation. It is ammonia-free so it won't harm chrome, paintwork, rubber or plastic. It is safe for use with plastic headlights. Biodegradable and phosphate-free. Has a fresh citrus scent. Please note: It is not rated for freezing."

einszett is the manufacturer & nextzett Kristall Klar is the particular product.

sounds good. Not rated for freezing. Not good.

from auto geek:

Mixing Ratios:
1.5 parts Anti-Frost + 1 part water....-20°F
1 part Anti-Frost + 1 part water.......... -5°F
1 part Anti-Frost + 2 parts water........11°F
1 part Anti-Frost + 3 parts water........18°F

1:1 for -5F protection. So $10/gallon. Might me a good deal for you Floridians not for Coloradans.
