Very vague statement wonder what the real deal is as the owner of a 2013.

If this is like Dieselgate, I wouldn’t worry! I have a 2015 Cayenne Diesel and it’s the best SUV I have ever owned! Their was nothing wrong with the engine just lying to government about emissions. For that sin they gave me $13,000.00 and I still love the truck! Those with the cars affected might have just won the lottery!

My experience with the "fix" created by Dieselgate was miserable. Our pristine Cayenne went from brilliant to a bucket of bolts. Three returns to the dealer, letters and emails to Porsche did not solve the new noises and reduced performance the fix created. We traded out of it. Look at the 958 forum, plenty of owners complaining about bad turbo lag and reduced performance. The lesson here, is to collect as much money as you can without them touching your car. Don't be lulled in by a longer warranty and cash payments. Any fix will be a band aid, and will change the character of your car. In the end though, we came out ok, with a decent trade, the Dieselgate funding and a great discount on a Macan SE (which is actually a better car for us now). So just beware and know your options.

Default Hard to believe

my car gets almost 28 mpg. Man a check would be nice, I would have to add the powerkit.

Reading between the lines, the article mentions engines developed between 2008-13. I doubt the flat six is one since it is a continuation of an existing design. I think it may be mainly the V8 in the Panamera (and corresponding Cayennes) plus maybe the twin turbo V6 in the Panamera and first generation Macans?

I pretty sure the NA 9A1 flat 6 was in development during the this time period.

As someone who has a CD, you don't really want the check. Trust me

Yeah the 991.1 engine was developed in the late 2000's and showed up first in the 997.2 in 2009. I got 31 mpg on a highway run today. Check please!

No way, no how I am turning my 991.1 GTS in if it is found to have some sort of defeat device. I have always lauded the car's fuel efficiency. Perhaps it is so good for no good reasons....time will tell. But I am keeping the car.*

*Nor will I take the car in for engine modifications. Hells no.
