My wife drove the 50th today for the first time and likes the way it handles much better. Duh! The 992 is definitely more refined but NA just gets into your soul.

Congrats, and awesome 50th. How are you liking the car now that you've had it for a few weeks? I have yet to see a geyser grey one in person, only graphite on a couple occasions. I'm not usually a cream car fan but the non-metalic paint paired with that brown / houndstooth interior looks so classy (at least in pics).
Recently sold my 991.1 C4 and am on the hunt for a special 3.8L, hopefully a 991.1 GTS or 50th next year. Loved the C4 and chassis, just want a N/A 3.8L with the PSE pops and exhaust gurgles for a long term keeper.

Yes absolutely. We had two other post 2016 Porsches and I disliked them both...a lot. The 992 appealed to us mainly because it’s the closest Porsche has gotten a cab to drive like a coupe. Plus it’s very user friendly.

Thanks. Personally I like throttle response, linear power delivery, and revs. I also like light weight and my 50th weighs upwards of 100 pounds less than a Carrera T and has 60 more hp just to give an idea how portly they’re getting. All well and good but I actually do like the T mainly due to the gearing. Didn’t own one (had a .2S with RAS and PDCC though) but think it’s a better choice than a new or old GT4, which I also had but the GT4 while an interesting car the suspension is brutal, the gearing is wrong, and the traction isn’t its strong suit. Enjoyed my 981 Spyder more with X73 suspension. My top Porsches I’ve owned are my 50th, my 2012 Cayman R with manual gearbox, PCCB, and SC among a ton of other options, and my RS60 Boxster. Next would be my 987 Spyder followed by the 981 Spyder and then the GT4. All this is based on the smile factor while driving. No other measurement means much to me. I drive about the same way no matter what I have so whether it’s faster or slower means little. It’s the visceral experience that matters most.

I had a good run of them after back to back 997s. So far the count is five 911s, four Boxsters, and three Caymans. I may be done with water cooled 911s. Retirement should bring in my first air cooled 911 to take to the grave, or until my legs stop working.
