Default CPO verification

Just picked up a CPO 991.2. But didn’t get any paperwork about the extended warranty. Still has couple of months left on the original.
Any thoughts? How do I verify etc.?

When I purchased my car the dealer didn’t give me anything but it was in the contract. A couple of weeks later I received a very nice CPO packet in the mail.

Thanks! There’s no mention of it in the contract even tho we talked about it while signing the paper. With all the dates it would be good for. Can’t wait until 5 AM eastern to call up PCNA. Only 5 hours to go.

In each case, from three different dealers, I got a letter about the CPO with dates of coverage and their inspection sheet. I also got the package from Porsche as mentioned above. You should ask for the dealer letter and inspection sheet. It shows you everything they checked or fixed and also is documentation that it didn’t have any issues.

Dealer experiences vary, it seems.

I left with my ‘17 CPO 991.2 from the dealer with no CPO paperwork last June. The car was advertised as CPO. After sale, and considerable effort on my part, they sent me a screen shot of the VIN in their computer showing the CPO status and CPO warranty expiry date.

In parallel, PCNA confirmed the same, in an email exchange.

I got my CPO package from Atlanta about 7 weeks after the sale.

OHHBOY...it’s 5AM, .called PCNA...not looking good. It doesn’t say it’s CPO on their end.

I won’t say the dealers name yet. Going to give them an opportunity to explain and make it right.

my first Porsche. What a horrible taste.

Bought it Saturday...anyone know if I can return it in CA? I’ve checked the laws. But looks like I have to call a lawyer...ugh I’m going to be sick...🤢

Do you still have access to the original ad? Did it say CPO anywhere on the ad?

I hear ya.

Best to get in touch with the dealer. Save any all web sites, cached and otherwise. Make hard copies. Document all correspondence. Make a record on paper of your verbal discussions. Construct an annotated detailed time line of your purchase. Get PCNA involved and aware of your situation.

Also: A long shot, but if (if) the dealer is legit, and they 'just' submitted the CPO status/certification to PCNA, could it take a while for their system to show the car? For example, CPO is supposed to have a checklist. Can the dealer provide that checklist or a copy of it?

Keep the faith. I hope (pray) all will turn out ok, and be just a big misunderstanding. If a Porsche dealer (you did buy it from a Porsche dealer, correct?) offers a car as CPO, and it turns out not to be, that would be a big no no.

Beautiful car, love the wheels!
Everything Rich Jenkins said, especially with regards to the CPO info getting into PCNAs system.

Did you buy at the Porsche/Audi dealer or through the BMW dealer?

The answer matters significantly.

Having bought a couple CPO Porsches before, I'm falling into the "dealership is real slow in submitting the CPO paperwork" and/or "Porsche is real slow in processing said paperwork" camp. Just ask the dealership for something in writing confirming the paperwork was submitted. That dealership has been active on this board before and I haven't heard anything bad about them.

wow that’s awesome!!!

it was in a Porsche/Audi showroom. Sales person was a “Porsche ambassado”, the finance guy was P finance guy. Bmw is next door, also owned by them but didn’t go there to sign paperwork.

Give them a chance. Same thing happen to me when buying my last 911. There was a previous sale that failed to go through for some reason. I called PCNA, they could not have been easier to work with with. They got it all sorted with no issues. The dealer was a bit embarrassed and sent me a screen shot of the CPO registration. PCNA followed up a day or two later and received my CPO packet about a month later. If you bought from Porsche dealer and have documentation showing CPO it should be no problem.
