I've always loved the wild Rubystone Red (which is really a funky pink color). Only cars I'm aware of it being offered on were 964 RS (ROW models), Carrera GT (as PTS) and 991 GT3 (as PTS).
Most of the above colors are boring. Viper definitely excepted, so is Miami and similar.
But Guards Red is a classic Porsche color and easy to maintain, costs nothing and looks great. Not sure why it hasn't been mentioned.
Had a Guards Red 944 Turbo S before and almost bought a 992 C4S in it again, but it just looked way too orange for my eyes after seeing Carmine Red and owning 2 Alfas in Rosso Competizione, an amazingly beautiful red. Ended up with a Night Blue 991.2 C4S Cab, but sort of wish I had held out for a Carmine Red GTS4 Cab.
I'm a big fan of chalk. While I love seeing lava orange and other cool colors but I never see myself owning too flash so chalk works great for me. Great to look at but never flashy.
Love this thread, so many great colors! I love bold colors like mexico blue, riviera blue, birch green, etc. But I also love more benign colors like navy blue, chalk, carmine red, olive green. Any exterior color needs to be set with the right wheel and interior combo.

I remember this color. Was it the Porsche engineer pulling up his pants to show his sock or the color of the lipstick in the commercial?
I really like it too but I don't think my wife will approve it.
For the 911, dare I say that the car makes the color?
Some cars do not look good in some colors.
In the case of the 911, the timeless styling and curves makes every color look good. This is true even for some colors that I ordinarily would not like.
