Default Headlight removal problem

Removed the left headlight using the special tool per the manual. No problem. When I insert the tool into the hole to remove the right headlight the tool spins 360°. I know for a fact that's not supposed to happen because the left one popped out with a quarter turn. I feel a little resistance like the hex head of the locking bar is rounded off....any ideas???Thanks in advance,

Phil

Yes it's probably rounded off.

Take a flashlight and look in through the hole and see what you see.

When I stripped mine I had to jam that tool onto the mechanism to get it to turn.

The headlight tray is $100 and takes a few minutes to change out.

Yeah it ended up being rounded off. I removed the wheel and liner and pushed it out from the back while manipulating the tool. Funny thing is I was replacing my headlights with used black ones from ebay and one of the used ones already had a headlight tray on it so I replaced the locking bar right then and there lol. Thanks for the help.
