Default Very Pronounced Sound w/Video

I went in for service today, and as Im leaving, I noticed I have a much more pronounced "swoosh" sound from the engine, when the turbos start to spool up. When I first bought the car, earlier this year, i noticed when I would get on it, there was always this slight rush of air and swoosh I could hear. Now, after the oil change, it is much more pronounced and louder. Is this normal?

Did you have the Symposer blocked? If so, did the tech unblock it?

An oil change by itself shouldn't make a difference to the engine sounds. I've had two oil changes and they didn't cause any changes.

I thought about that, but I don’t even know where the symposer is. The tech didn’t do any work in the car either. I was watching as they worked on it.

But again, what is considered normal volume in these cars? This is the sound of the turbos sucking in air, and when I shift, like a blowoff valve sound is there as well. I’m wondering if my car has aftermarket drop-in air filters. I know that can lead to increased turbo induction sound. I just haven’t seen the filters to know.

But you only had an oil change, so how could the sound have changed?

I don’t know. I’m wondering the same. How does an oil change increase the sound of the intake/turbo suction noise. I’ll keep
driving and see if anything is up. I do have to setup an appointment for warranty work, maybe I’ll have them check that out.

So here is a quick video of what I’m talking about. I’m just about flooring it to get it this loud. I had my phone laying on the arm rest, looking upwards and you’re basically seeing through the screen and sunroof.

Right at 12 seconds and 34 second mark you can hear it. Also, my windows are up.

It had something similar happen to my car one time I send it to the dealer. I think the problem was that one of the mechanics didn't tight up a hose that goes to one of the turbos and that's were the increased turbo spool noises was coming from. Went back to the dealer and they fix it immediately .

Thats not right. Bring it back, that could be a loose hose or something.

That's the JDM 911 mod! You didn't like it?

Glad they identified the issue and got it fixed.

It was funny because when I got there, the tech jumped in with me and was like, that sounds good. I laughed and said that in the past I paid money to make it sound like that. Lol. I’m fine with it sounding the way it is.
