Default How To I Access DME relay on 991.1?

I need to replace the DME relay in my 2013 991.1 coupe. The service manual says the relay is located behind the left rear seat. Does anyone know how to remove the carpeted cover behind the rear seat backs so I can access the relay carrier to change out the relay? I don't want to break or force anything by operating in the blind. (FYI, this is related to my post about a radiator fan problem afflicting my 991.1 at https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1199...r-stumped.html. I'm starting a new thread because how to access the DME relay is a distinct issue.)

Thanks.

Flip the rear seatbacks down, and then pull up on the factory carpet immediately behind the seatbacks. Its flimsy and lined with foam on the back-very simple to move around-just have to get it untucked from the rear panels.

Default This takes me back

To my 928 days where you always had to carry an extra DME relay or some extra wire with you because when it failed the car would not run. Back then it was in the footwell.

Thanks. Are you talking about the carpet with the two metal tie down bars on the rear shelf beneath the rear window (and behind the seat backs)? How do I do that? Do I pull up on the bars? Do I have to remove anything else first? I’m just a bit concerned not to break anything.

Default 991.1 Carrier 2 Fan/Fuse positions

I couldn't find a diagram of the fuse and relay layout in carrier 2 behind the rear seats. So I studied the car's circuit diagram, and figured out the fuse and relay positions myself. Here's a photo of the relay carrier with my annotations (I didn't annotate every fuse, only the ones I was focusing on). I hope someone finds this useful, and if anyone finds any errors let me know and I'll update it.

Dumb question. What was the issue that caused you to replace unit.
Always need more knowledge.

the problem is in this thread - https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1199...r-stumped.html

I did not replace the DME relay. I took it out, tested it, and it works fine. I thought it would, but it was the easiest to test and least expensive to replace. Thus, my first diagnostic target.

I hope someone finds this useful,
Older thread, but yes, *VERY* useful! I've been searching all over for a relay layout diagram as well as relay rack locations...

Thanks.

Anyone know where the Fuel Pump relay is? Is it in this area as well on a 991 Turbo S? Trying to see if maybe I have a relay problem (unlikely) vs my High Pressure Fuel Pump taking a dump.
