No wonder there are so few around! I can assure you that you will love it but if you can get to drive one before buying it that would be preferred; however, you are going to love it either way.
I love my targa. I’ve found i never used the sunroofs or moon roofs i had, never even open them during ownership because it just seemed so pointless.
I drive my targa with the top down as often as possible. It’s perfect. There is a cab vs targa discussion somewhere here but i love my targa much more than my cabs too. It does the cab feeling while still have the look and visibility of a coupe.
I sold a C7 since the wind buffeting was terrible, no matter the seating position. In the Targa though it is the opposite and I drove 2 hours one way to test drive one to be sure I wanted it, which I did of course. I drove a couple Cabs before that but the Targa looks so much better to me and the open top experience is good enough, again for me. I will say that if you put the seat all the way up and back you might get some buffeting at some speeds but who drives like that? Especially if you are tall! I was out today and the top was down before I left the garage and went back up when I re-entered - makes me so happy I have one every time I drive it with zero regrets, and this is coming from someone that has a LOT of vehicles that were owned for fairly short periods of time...I think I might keep this one longer than any of the others.
Hi Bob,
May I ask you how tall you are so that I can compare with my situation? I am 5 feet 9 (180cm) and I usually drive with the seat at the lowest position. I have driven a 991.2 Targa 4S in a Porsche Experience center but it was raining that day so no roof down unfortunately so I don't know if I might feel this buffeting.

I am 6'2" so you will not feel any wind at all! My wife is 5'10" and she loves it, and she hated the C7 buffeting.

I am 5’10 and drive with seat in lowest position and elbows bent at 45 angle. No buffeting issues
Get the Targa, on a nice day the experience is sublime with the top-down!
Well folks, I’m happy to report that I’ve made a deal for a Targa. Hopefully will be enjoying it by next weekend. I appreciate everyone’s input! Cheers!

I take it you feel comfortable in the cockpit. I'm 6'4". Getting in & out can be a PITA, however once I'm in, fits perfectly. I'm maxed out on my 14-way seats.

Congrats... The Targa has without doubt the best exterior design out there. There is just something with the design flow from the front over the roof and especially the rear window that's just amazing... Cannot help starring when I see one :-)
