Default This car is special!

In the 2k miles and 8 months I've had my 991.1 GTS, I have to say it has been the most "storied" car I've ever had. Granted, in my town of 300k, I'm 99.9% sure it's the only 991.1 GTS and definitely the only one with the aerocup kit. So rare for sure.
I've had a Home Depot lot boy offer to "help" unload our cart just because he wanted to see the Porsche parked "out there" (literally in an empty adjacent lot). He had no idea it was mine. I had to ask how he even spotted it! Showed him the inside and he watched as I left and waived.

I've had someone stop next to me and take pictures (didn't know I was sitting in the car on the phone).

And today, as we were going through our rental house under construction, I saw a little boy, about 10 or 11, on a scooter ride up the street to my car, circle it, leave and come back 2 minutes later with 3 friends. They followed me all the way down through the neighborhood as I left.
That's just a couple stories. This car sparks joy in people! I go out for a drive and when I get home, I just want to go back out again for no other reason than just to drive it!

Anyway, the kid on the scooter with his friends cracked me up so I thought I'd share. 😊

Beautiful car and you’re the 0.01% in town for sure. Stay safe and have fun.

I had a similar happening; we were out for a drive and stopped in a little remote town for lunch. An 8-10 year old boy, with his mother asked if they could take a picture with the boy standing in front of the car. I said "of course" and walked back to the car, unlocked it and let his mother take pictures with him sitting in the car. He was absolutely thrilled. We then walked back to the restaurant where the father also thanked me. Made a future Porsche owner with that one act of kindness.

Porsche has world-wide reputation and the 911 shape is universally recognized.

People will comment “great/beautiful car”, they don’t ask the brand, they apparently know.

And you won’t see many on the road. Just came back from a trip from Florida, through Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama and back. I saw one other 911, a T.

Enjoy your ride!

If you see that kid again..... track down the parents and ask if you can take him for a ride.

It will make his day for sure.

For the most part... Minus the kid who worked at our Discount Tire who checked my TPMS sensor for me. He actually asked me what Porsche it was! 🙄

I could not agree more. I have 43,000 miles on my 991.1 GTS cab. As much as I love my Touring, the 991.1 GTS is special in its own right because it provides a much greater breadth of driving "options." The GT3 is always in beast mode. The GTS can be docile one moment and quite sporty the next, depending on your mood. The engine alone is worth keeping forever.

Hahahha! Ya I agree. I got it in October, so it was parked through a lot of the winter. Then I did various projects on it like the 40k service, sound proofing the interior, seatbelt upgrade, powder coating 2 sets of rims, AWE switchpath, replacing/adding PPF, window tint, etc. which kept it parked a little longer.

Making up for lost time now but still trying to keep the miles reasonable. It's a '16 with 27,500 miles, so it's definitely been driven.
