On this episode, we take one of the highest optioned Carrera S’s we could find and turn it into a fun, reliable, and safe DE machine. A Clubsport if you will.
One of our local 991.1 GT3RS customer came to us and asked to build him something so that he could retire his RS for track duty, with safety being a primary focus. After a few weeks of scouring the internet for the perfect donor, we found it, a 2013 Carrera S with just about every box in the configurator checked. The options that most caught our eye, PDK, slick top and of course, the X51 PowerKit. With no time wasted the donor was purchased, shipped from TX to FL and immediately stripped in preparation for one of our IMSA spec 6pt roll cages and parts begin to stack up.
This thread is an ongoing build and will continue to provide updates as things progress in the buildout. Immediate plans for the car are to increase safety for DE use, add a few go fast bits, and improve suspension adjustability. Long term this car will receive the full racecar treatment, with plans to dip his toes into some club level racing.

As he first arrived. A beautiful example of a 991.1 Carrera S, complete with Sport Design package, full leather interior and even the Burmester audio package. Some may see whats about to come next as sacrilege!

At the end of the first day, we have project "Killer Canary" stripped down and prepped for cage work. As with most work, proper prep is key in ensuring a quality outcome.

Every interior panel is carefully removed with just the chassis harness and dash bar left intact.

Once the main structure of the cage is in place, the front down is dropped down to complete the weld around the perimeter of the tubing. Once welded, the cage is put back into position and welded in its final resting place. Door bars are next!

Thanks everyone for following along! We made great progress on the cage work last week, and just about buttoned up on it! Time to further prep the interior and send this thing off to paint to make the inside look just as nice as the outside
Thank you sir! Puppy Mason approves!![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Haha, I dont think we're slipping this one under the radar!
End goal will be to update the suspension to a 2-way MCS coilover package. The H&R's allow us to play with ride heights at an inexpensive price point, and leaves us room to grow in the future. The main goal in this build is safety, with providing a stepping stone into a full club race build in the future.
Yellow cars seem to be attracted to us, huh?
This one will be wrapped in the end, though will keep the yellow as a base
Thank you sir! Puppy Mason approves!

Some cage work progressions! We're about wrapped up as far as the tubing goes, some small details and fitting the dash are next and then its off to paint!

My pops took his black 997 GT3 to these guys and they were over the top nice and great in the service on the car! I would hesitate using these guys for any Porsche needs!!
